Learn from Mistakes is Investments biggest lesson

Investing is fun, especially when we follow the rules and taste success. There are lot of lessons i learned from experience after all experience is the mother of all books.

Everyone's life have a role model and in my life too there are role models and one of the key role models is my creator (your guess might be wrong, it's my Mom and Dad) and then comes the great book on Warren Buffet.

Mistakes which i made and learned from it

1. Followed stock purchase suggestion from magazine and lost Money - mistake (bought one of the stock at it's all time high, but always went down after that)
2. Excepted equity value to double in very very short time - mistake (sold in frustration) - now the sold stocks really doubled, but i don't own it when it doubled.
3. Expected 2-3 digit valued stocks can give better returns than 4 and above digit valued stocks - mistake (bought some of these cheap stocks but they never had value, failed to read P/E and BV and EPS)
4. Bought value stocks with less P/E - mistake (bought least P/E stocks but business which i did not understand, they never peaked up)
5. Thought Trading is the best way to see money - mistake (booked profit when they reached 10% but saw these stocks sky rocketing after i sold, made nothing with the profit made.
6. Mistake - Bought when all are buying.
7. Mistake - Sold when all are Selling


All these are some of the mistakes which i made but these mistakes made me a better investor.

My Advice
1. Buy the company whose business you know have patience and hold it for really long period.
2. Buy when others are Selling, Sell when others are buying.

Trip to Mysore

Trip to Mysore from Bangalore is awesome again with the Petra 1.6 100bhp power horse. I enjoyed the whole drive with my family. The whole stretch of 150 km one way was great except the return journey where I experienced the heaviest rainfall while driving.

Visibility was poor and road conditions was bad, but experience of driving Petra was always fun and more fun.

Went to the Mysore Zoo, saw tipu's fort from the entrance and visited the Brindavan Garden.

My Longest Air Trip

Bangalore to Columbus, Ohio the longest miles in Plane, wish i registered for Miles program. Started from bangalore went to Frankfurt, Germany (9 hours) and waited for 6 hours for my connecting flight to Newark, US (8 hours) and then waited for 4 hours for connecting flighty to Columbus, Ohio USA (1 hour 20 mins).

Personally the experience was tough but any travel for me is a boom, so i enjoyed my trip, except the lack of sleep and some headache.

Looking forward for my days of stay and the day when will meet my loved ones back home.

Every moment of life is an experience and it's the experience which is worth remembered.

Travel to Hyderabad

Traveled first time to Hyderabad, a beautiful indian city with pleasant weather. Got some Biriyani and Haleem. Great Infrastructure and Great Airport, i loved this city of whatever saw, will visit again, but surely on a vacation.

Amazing Dead Sea, Jordan

Jordan's side of the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth. A growing number of medical patients and visitors are flocking to Jordan's Dead Sea for its black mud, which is thought to possess healing properties that can treat skin diseases.

Travel to Kacheepuram (Temples of India)

It was on the Friday 10th we all packed our luggage for a 3 day trip down Kancheepuram, Place of Temples. It was a amazing drive again on the Petra - The Fiat Engine zoomed and reached there in 3hr and 45min, which beat our previous record of 4 hours.
Started at 6:30 in the morning had a stop for breakfast and then straight hit the Temple Town and went to my sister's place there.
Again went to Chennai on Saturday for some work and came back to Bangalore on Sunday at 6:00 pm. I always feel sad when the journey ends.

Petra

Petra - Sedan from the makers of Ferrari my wonder Car (Petra - Jordan is also one of the new wonders of the world, beautiful city in the World ). What can i say about this wonder car, it's amazing acceleration has no competition in it's class. The Fiat Engine is like a song on the Road.

My longest drive in Petra is 1000 km ( Bangalore - Pune ), i would say the engine was so smooth, i never felt that i drove 17 hours. At 60 or 120 Petra was smooth like a whistle.

Then comes the 475 km ( Bangalore - Guruvayoor ) again taken the rough with a smooth, one of the benefits of this sturdy Car is it's size too, because roads of Kerala are driver's nightmare but Petra's pleasure.

Then comes the 400 km ( Bangalore - Pondicherry - beaches ) again it's like amazing cruise in the Petra. The roads are likg Good:bad ratio of 50:50. The Drive was greatest again. Planning to go to Pondicherry again on 23rd January 2009, will write about the experience soon.

Then comes the 360 km ( Bangalore - Chennai ), i travel between these cities for at least 6 time a Year from 2007, again Petra is great as ever.

Sometimes i drive Petra, just for the sake of driving her, She (Petra) is a wonder engine.
